Executive Housekeeper The Metcalfe

The newly renovated 4 Star Metcalfe Hotel is seeking a passionate Executive Housekeeper to join our opening Executive Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms, public areas and back of house areas to ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and repair
• Elicit guest feedback with respect to the housekeeping services and resolve any issues to ensure 100% guest satisfaction
• Establish and maintain a regular deep cleaning program
• Work closely with the other hotel departments in maintaining guest satisfaction
• Recruit, hire and train all housekeeping employees
• Coach, develop and mentor all housekeeping employees and work within the hotel’s collective agreement to achieve the highest level of Employee Satisfaction
• Manage with a hands on approach
• Prepare weekly staffing schedules based on hotel operations
• Conduct regular departmental meetings
• Maintain a high level of morale through open communication at all levels
• Promote and participate in The Metcalfe service culture
• Work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the hotel & participate in the MOD rotation including evenings and weekend shifts.
• Ensure all company policies are followed with regards to financial transactions including payroll
• Prepare monthly inventories of departmental supplies and linen, ensuring proper par levels are maintained
• Manage the Lost and Found system
• Follow the hotel’s Purchase Order system for ordering departmental supplies
• Responsible for achieving budgeted departmental financial goals through managing departmental costs
• Follow & promote all hotel safety measures and health & safety standards including strictly following & enforcing all Covid policies and procedures
• Co-chair the Health & Safety Committee, conduct monthly Health & Safety Meetings and inspections
• Follow Company policies and procedures
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the General Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three to five years Housekeeping experience in supervisory role
• Ability to motivate and inspire through leading by example
• Strong leadership and training skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• Must have ability to work within a team environment but also under minimal supervision
• Maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times
• Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Strong literacy skills both verbal and written
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
• Bilingualism an asset
• Computer literacy (PMS, Excel, Word, internet, email, etc.)
